What benefits does Cygnus Track's Administration Portal give me? Why would I need it?
The Administration Portal included with each edition of Cygnus Track provides you with the tools to manage accounts, users, branding, languages, archiving, and maps — all from one location. If you are going to sell subscriptions to more than one party, or to parties that operate in different parts of the work, the Administration Portal will make management much easier and give you the ability to further divide your clients by accounts as well as organizations.
Does Cygnus Track have vehicle routing features?
Cygnus Track does not yet provide routing or turn-by-turn directions.
What types of assets can I track?
You can track anything that can carry a device: cars, trucks, machinery, boats, airplanes, motorcycles, adults, children, and pets are just a few examples.
Is there a limit on the number of devices I can have in Cygnus Track?
The number of devices support by Cygnus Track is only limited by your hardware setup. There are various different hardware configurations possible to address concerns of scalability, security, and redundancy when designing your environment. We can help you plan your hardware requirements based on your performance expectations, device volume and other needs. Does Cygnus Track work throughout the United States?
Cygnus Track can be used virtually anywhere you can find supported hardware devices and cellular providers. We currently have devices being used in the continental United States, South America, the Middle East and other locations around the globe. Generally, Cygnus Track will work with any wireless network that is supported by your hardware device. In the U.S. there are various options such as Verizon, Sprint/Nextel and AT&T. There are also various other packet networks and resellers in the U.S. and abroad that may fit your needs, depending on your location, throughput and security requirements. What do I need to start using Cygnus Track?
What you will need depends on which Cygnus Track edition you choose. If you select Enterprise Edition or Integrator Edition and bring the solution in-house, you will need a server and other requisite software (see Technology FAQs for further details). Whether you are licensing an in-house or hosted system, you will also need to supply the GPS tracking devices you would like to use to track your resources. You can see a list of suggested GPS tracking devices on our website. Plus, you always have the option of using existing tracking devices that may already be installed in your vehicles.
Where can we track assets?
Anywhere. Cygnus Track is one of the only GPS tracking systems that is not bound by geography. You can track in the United States, internationally, or even just within a single building.
Can we locate our assets on-demand or only in real-time?
You can track your assets on-demand, based on an event, or set up a periodic schedule to update them automatically.
Are there editions of Cygnus Track in other languages?
Yes, Cygnus Track supports multiple languages and is fully internationalized. What's more, every edition of Cygnus Track comes built-in with a tool you can use to configure your own custom language pack for the system.
Can we restrict our assets to specific areas?
Yes, not only can you restrict them to a specified area, you can restrict them from specified areas as well.
