Hi again Frank,

I have got the instructions on how to configure the device. However, I need the host IP address and Port, to which the device should send the data via gprs? hope this makes sense.

Regards
Raaiz

Further to my message above, just to give you an example, i've had to send below command by sms to the device, when i had to set up to use with a software called coretelematics. (note - the device provider is atrack)

at$gprs=1,"WAP","","","atrack.coretelematics.com",12072,0,3,30,1,1

here - "atrack.coretelematics.com" is the host ip (can also send actual ip instead of host name)
port - 12072

Raaiz,
The host ip is the server which running the listener you just created.

Here is how everything work:
1. The device will send the message to your server(the one running your custom listener).
2. Your listener will receive the message from your device.
3. Your listener will parse the message and post the location to cygnustrack gateway.
4. You could login to cygnustrack web protal and see the device on tracking page.

Hope this is helpful for you.

Thanks

Frank

Frank,

Thanks for the clarification. One more question.

I installed the listerner on my laptop. when i ran the gateway message log, the source IP is given as 112.134.202.93

however, when i ran C:/netstat - an command prompt many ip and tcp ports were brought up (except the above IP). I used above ip and one of the many listening tcp ports shown - but no response from the device to the web?

Can you pls tell me how I could identify the correct IP and TCP Port from my laptop for this purpose?

Thanks
Raaiz

Raaiz,

This could be a little bit complex. You know you could get internet by router. And the IP you mentioned probably is your router IP. To expose your local IP and port need do some router configuration also probably need configure the firewall of your local machine.

So I think we could use our test server to test your listener and device. Once you have your custom listener done I could put it to our test server. I will let you know the IP and the port and you could point your device to the IP and port to test it out.

Hope this is helpful for you.

Thanks

Frank

Hi Frank,

Yes, please let me know the IP and Port of your test server, so that we could go down the route you are suggesting.

Best regards
Raaiz

Raaiz,

You need send the listener you built to us. And I can deploy it to our test server. After that I could let you know the IP and the Port.

Thanks

Frank
